Immigration Madness

David Cunliffe, I am deeply disappointed in you and as a result, my opinion of your intelligence and integrity have dropped to zero.

The people of New Zealand can quite rightfully expect that government departments such as the Immigration department are much like a border patrol, like MAF and Customs, set in place to police the comings and goings of nasty bugs and drugs and persons that could ill effect our economy and our citizens.

The new policy arrogantly announced by David Cunliffe as being "obviously" the best thing for New Zealand was to make money the only qualifying requirement for residency/citizenship.
When you talk to someone who cannot directly communicate with you personally by way of common language, a lot of mis-information most often occurs.
The subtleties of intonation, relative body language, etc, lead to a distinct disadvantage to the receiver (in this case the Kiwi).
Persons that manage to accumulate vast sums of money in other countries where a greater population requires a great deal more cunning and a great deal less concern for those they exploit, are not the kind of character I personally want to experience or have my children subject to in my country.

Consider this scenario, you negotiate some kind of deal by way of interpreter, (who is bought and paid for by the foreigner), sign a contract and find you lose everything.
The court is of little help as you have signed a legal agreement. The interpreter is blamed, but doesn't have anything to compensate you with, the interpreter may get prison but you lose.
The foreigner sits in your chair in your office laughing at the stupid "trusting" New Zealander.
So now the kiwi needs to buy the services of an interpreter in an effort to deal with these foreigners.
Even that is not going to be enough if they have their sights set on your business!

Do you think that they will treat New Zealanders any different from those they have already exploited in their countries of origin? Like the casino's they don't come here to give money away!
Lay down with dogs and you will surely get up with fleas. Cultural awareness and acceptance is also a weak and dangerous rationale for the importation of people with character traits that are not commonplace in New Zealand society.

There is no good reason to import people with money when the government can simply issue more money by way of the Reserve Bank! If spent wisely on social services and infrastructure we can all prosper and enjoy living here without outside interference.

Shame on you David Cunliffe!
You have successfully removed the last form of protection our country may have had by way of Immigration Services.
