Part of Philip Marco's report to Waitakere City Council shows that the constituents are in the spray, in the section showing "quality standards for BTK" There have been no long term tests done on BT products produced for the spray program nor any testing done on the "standards" of what has been used. The fact that Genetically engineered BT has been used should raise alarm. It is inexcusable that MAF and the government should mislead the public with statements like "BT naturally occurs in soil" of course it does but not the GE stuff and they knew it was Genetically Engineered.

Group D Streptococci, Staphylococcus Aureus, Salmonella, Coliforms, Mesophiles, Yeasts and Moulds, are all present in the spray used here, others are present also and merely concealed by the use of the words "coliforms and Mesophiles".

Philip Marco you are a lazy profiteering scoundrel! you should be ashamed to call yourself either a scientist or a consultant. City Council - your poor judgement of who to trust is obviated by your acceptance of this report.

If Marco had done his homework or any of the politicians and their advisors and particularly MAF had also done their job properly they would have easily found the following information written in 1999 by Bernstein I, Bernstein J, Miller M, Tiewzieva S, Bernstein D, Lummus Z, Selgrade M, Doerfler D and Seligy V. Immune responses in farm workers after exposure to Bacillus thuringiensis pesticides, which includes the following statement -

In addition, Bt-toxins are actual and potential allergens for human beings. Field workers exposed to Bt spray experienced allergic skin sensitization and induction of IgE and IgG antibodies to the spray, a Bt strain that caused severe human necrosis (tissue death) killed mice infected through the nose within 8 hours, from clinical toxic-shock syndrome.

These tests are not long term tests either, there are however ongoing tests that are not being made publicly obvious because of the financial losses that manufacturers through to importers and all those on the money trail would incur, but this data should be available to those who proclaim expertise in consultancy in this field! No Excuses!
BT also has two close cousins called Anthrax and bacillis cereus and it is noted in scentific data available on the web that BT has the ability to produce plasmids that match those of both, now, if that does not raise alarm bells in our official caretakers what will? a nuclear mushroom perhaps?

Marco has merely copied what other ill informed so called experts have said about the spray and what is written on the manufacturers safety data sheet. There had been no, repeat NO, scientific research done, on the long term effects of Foray 48b or it's other variants.

In the interests of public safety the dutiful civil choice would logically and respectfully be to err on the side of caution, but neither logic nor respect has been applied here.

Marco's report goes to great lengths to minimize concern by pussy footing around the fact that there have been no long term studies done despite the IPCC warning included in his report "research into dose response analysis and the consequent daily intake levels of Bt in the diet and beverages, is a high priority".
It appears that no organisation is prepared to take responsibility for independant testing, preferring to take as complete and sufficient fact, the minimal data supplied by the manufacturer, who make their living from it.

When they give drugs that suppress the immune response, the patient cannot get better. If they get better do happen to get better it is a sign that their immune system has also overpowered or ignored the drugs, not a sign that the drugs cured them.

The Data is being collected but ailments are noted as of non-specific origin sadly the point is being missed by those in positions of authority that can prevent future spray programs. Sociopathic commercial interests being trusted in their pseudo scientific study data instead of independent studies that are dedicated to public and environmental protection.
